Big House Progress–Bathroom

Back to the Big House. The task: Transforming old library to new bathroom:

The old library stripped of furniture.

New walls and window roughed in. I like the sense of depth and space that breaking up the room with walls accomplishes.

This corner shower screams for a canned ceiling light.

Everything is where I plan it except for the toilet area, which will be forward of the door. Doing a temp piecing of the room reminds me of the supplies I’ve forgotten to get: Canned lights, more tiles to start.

I also need a toilet. Must go shopping. Good toilets are hard to find.

Courtyard Project Complete

Finished the courtyard. Yay! I have a hankering now to go back to The Big House–have five more rooms to finish there. The big hankering in my future is to build the Classic Bungalow by RGT. Must finish other things and make room for it first!

From the fountain. I enjoyed aging and "weeding" everything.

Aging: I aged the walls and the shingles with a wash of burnt umber, latte, and antique white acrylic paints, over a base coat of light ivory (all by Ceramcoat). Pavers are cut out of cardboard, painted burnt umber and then dabbed with burnt umber, black green, and latte (Ceramcoat again).
